Firm joins Brazil at Silicon Valley and co-hosts workshop for entrepreneurs at the Haas School of Business, University of California

The 2025 edition of Brazil at Silicon Valley, held from April 21 to 23 at the Google Event Center in Sunnyvale, California, highlighted Brazil’s growing leadership in the global innovation ecosystem. On April 24 and 25, TozziniFreire — represented by partners Maria Bofill and Luiz Filipe Aranha, from the Corporate, M&A, Private Equity and Venture Capital practices — joined forces with Cubo Itaú, AWS, and Innoscience to organize an exclusive program for entrepreneurs, venture capital investors, and executives from major Brazilian companies. The agenda included an intensive course at the University of California (Berkeley-Haas) and sessions at the AWS Gen AI Loft. Topics such as artificial intelligence, data culture, and AI applications in healthcare and agribusiness were discussed, reinforcing the importance of collaborative innovation.

Participants included startup founders, corporate representatives (from CVCs and large companies), ecosystem players (such as Cubo, Endeavor, and service providers like T&F, AWS, and Innoscience), and investors (from VCs and accelerators). The event also featured talks by Dev Rhishi (CEO, Predibase), Shaunak Godbole (CTO, Fireworks), Casey Marvin (GenAI Design Leader, AWS), and Jake Richards (GTM, Anthropic).

This year’s agenda was designed to deliver value to clients and prospects while strengthening brand presence in the global innovation ecosystem. The program included a workshop on innovation and artificial intelligence at Berkeley-Haas, combining executive education with an immersive experience on the campus of one of the world’s leading universities for corporate leaders. Discussions covered AI applications in organizations, technology innovation strategy, and digital transformation.

One of the key topics was “Data as the New Oil,” emphasizing that data is the new fuel for innovation, just as oil was in the past. A major insight was that, like oil, data must be refined — organized and processed — to generate real value. Companies that master data “refinement” through AI become market leaders, capable of creating innovative products and anticipating trends.

Another highlight was the “AI Matrix,” a framework for integrating different types of AI at each stage of a company’s maturity. The earlier AI evolves from a tool to a strategic brain, the greater its ability to shape markets and build new frontiers.

The event also featured a morning of immersion in generative AI at the AWS Gen AI Loft, with content on emerging trends in generative AI. It showcased AWS’s leadership in delivering cutting-edge technology solutions and covered topics such as Agentic AI (autonomous and proactive systems), the synergy between proprietary models and organizational design, and the new Claude model from Anthropic.

According to Maria Bofill, “being at the epicenter of discussions on key topics for the future of business and technology — such as the evolution of artificial intelligence, especially Agentic AI, data culture as a driver of continuous innovation, and practical AI applications in strategic sectors for Brazil — and offering our clients and partners a unique immersion in this week’s agenda reinforces TozziniFreire’s strategic position as a trusted partner in essential business innovation matters. Experiences like this act as catalysts for international connections and help anticipate trends that will shape the future of business and law.”
